24 Hour and Inpatient Services

The Crisis phone line is available on 24-hour basis to access mental health crisis services (707) 445-7715. This line can also be used to reach Adult Protective Services (APS) to report elder/dependent abuse and neglect after-hours and on weekends.

Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) staff is available on a 24-hour basis to provide crisis intervention, and/or stabilization services to persons who are exhibiting acute psychological distress.

Sempervirens Psychiatric Health Facility provides inpatient hospitalization for evaluation and treatment of severely acute psychiatric episodes.

Mental Health services are also provided to persons with a severe mental illness while housed in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.

The Children’s Center provides assessment, treatment, and short-term residential placement for Child Welfare Services (CWS) youth experiencing a mental health crisis.

Mental Health contracts with various organizations to provide longer-term stabilization and rehabilitation services, such as those provided by locked skilled nursing facilities (Institutes of Mental Disease).
