California Libraries - Get Involved

Make a difference: Volunteer

Volunteers are vital to the library. On a daily basis, volunteers assist patrons in the Humboldt room, shelve books, assist with children's programs, prepare materials for book sales, staff the Serendipity bookstore and help with a variety of special projects. The library currently enjoys the help of over 170 volunteers system-wide.

To volunteer at the library,

  • pick up an application at one of the public service desks
  • type your zip code in the box on the right, or
  • print out and submit this application form

Friends of the Library

The Humboldt County Library enjoys tremendous support throughout the county. Friends of the Library organizations exist in nearly every branch library community.
