The Board may hold Closed Sessions as the agenda schedule permits.  If items are marked with an asterisk (*), the recommended actions will require a 4/5 vote of the Board.

These matters are routine in nature and are usually approved by a single vote. Prior to the meeting, any member of the public may request any member of the Board to pull a particular item for further discussion.

Board of Supervisors

1.                   Continuation of Emergency - Closure of Martin's Ferry Bridge. (Supervisor Geist)

RECOMMENDATION: Declare that a local state of emergency, per Resolution # 07-08, remains in effect until January 8, 2008.

Public Works

2.                   Contract for the Design of Emergency  Stabilzation of Martin's Ferry Bridge (4C-007) Over the Klamath River Project No. 924020

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors authorize the Chair to sign two copies of Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Professional Services with MGE Engineering for an amount not to exceed $217,000. This amount will serve as full compensation for the design of emergency stabilization measures on Martin's Ferry Bridge (4C-007) as described in Exhibit A and B of the amended contract.

D.                  CLOSED SESSION

1.                   Standing Item -- Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6, Review the County's Position and Instruct Designated Representatives with Respect to the Various Forms of Compensation Provided to the County's Represented and Unrepresented Personnel.

2.                   It is the intention of the Board of Supervisors to meet in closed session to consider the appointment for the position of Agricultural Commissioner, Sealer of Weights and Measures pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.5

3.                   Conference with Legal Council on Pending, Threatened or Anticipated Litigation Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9; One (1) case
