RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Chair to sign a letter of support.

RECOMMENDATION: Send letter in support of appointment of Jimmy Smith to commission.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve agreement for early intervention services in the City of Arcata.

18.               Amendment to Contract with the State Department of Health Services for Lead Poisoning Prevention for Funding Period of July 1, 1998 to June 30, 1999 ($26,426)

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Chair to sign the contract amendment.

19.               Contract with the State Department of Health Services for Women, Infants and Child Supplemental Nutrition Program for the Period of October 1, 1998 to Sept. 30, 1999

RECOMMENDATION: Approve contract and associated expenditure of $8,355.

RECOMMENDATION: Direct staff to coordinate a mid-April date with Office of Emergency Services and FEMA to review project completion schedule and project costs.Direct staff to apply for supplemental Damage Survey Report reflecting additional costs and time extension to 7/31/99.Direct staff to work with M. Gearheart who has volunteered to provide landscaping and beautification advice for 5th St. side.Approve selected exterior color scheme.

1.                   Jimmy Smith of the Harbor District thanked the Board and County agencies for their cooperation and assistance with district projects.Aldo Bongio expressed concerns about over-regulation and Rachel Windsong stated her Y2K concerns.
