RECOMMENDATION: Find that the need to take action arose after the May 4, 1999 agenda was posted and authorize Chair to sign letter of support.

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to sign letter to State Senator Wesley Chesbro.

8.                   Amendment to Combined Net-Negotiated Amount Drug Medi-Cal Contract

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Mental Health Director to sign amendment and approve supplemental budget of $412.

4.                   Payment and Support for the Humboldt/Del Norte Hazardous Materials Response Team and Transfer from Contingency Budget Unit 434 Outside Agency Support (General Fund Impact)

RECOMMENDATION: The Board directed the Public Health Department to absorb the expense of the HMRT in their Department budget by utilizing Realignment monies.

1.                   David and Penny Elsebusch spoke in support of removing Mr. Lindsey McWilliams from his responsibility as the head of the Humboldt County Elections Division.They urged the Board of Supervisors to transfer said responsibility from an appointed position to an elected position.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve closure of Women's Health Clinic (Family Planning) and disallocate the appropriate positions in Budget Unit 423.

Planning and Building

3.                   Appeal of Planning Commission's Denial of special Permit Application No. SP-29-97; File No. 509-151-28; McKinleyville; ARTHUR C. HUNTER Applicant/Appellant

RECOMMENDATION: Continue the public hearing to Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at 1:30 p.m.
