A.                  BUDGET SESSION

Study Session

1.                   Study Session on Proposed 1997-98 Budget for the Departments of Public Defender, Conflict Counsel, Sheriff, Marshal and Office of Emergency Services (and other County Budget Units [if necessary])

RECOMMENDATION: Explore concept of forming an Alternative Counsel's Office under one department head or under three separate departments.Find in public interest to consolidate the Marshal's and Sheriff's office and direct appropriate County officials and staff meet to prepare recommendations to the Board.

2.                   Jail Staffing

RECOMMENDATION: Recommend the Board of Supervisors receive and file the report.

B.                  ADJOURNMENT
