1.                   County Endorsement of Funding for the Community Development Block (CDBG) Program and the Home Investment Partnerships Program

RECOMMENDATION: Take position of endorsement.

B.                  BUDGET SESSION

1.                   Continued Discussion on the Proposed 1997-98 County Budget

RECOMMENDATION: Receive update from Mr. John Murray.Direct Acting CAO to report at future meeting with information on consolidating Marshal and OES with Sheriff's Department, adding third tier to the Conflict Counsel's Office, have Registrar of Voters elected or appointed, eliminate Administrative Services Dept., move forward with Law Enforcement Cabinet, look at County departments for preliminary analysis on consolidation and look at the concept of a Department of Finance.

2.                   Budget and Layoffs

RECOMMENDATION: Recommend the Board direct layoff notices with possible exception of Personnel and the Auditor-Controller be delivered.
