RECOMMENDATION: Rescind requirement that the Board must approve the filling of currently vacant Investigator, Legal Secretary I/II, Legal Office Assistant I/II and Deputy D. A. I-IV.

7.                   Early Retirement for Gary Bates, Senior Investigator

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Mr. Bates contingent on his retiring on 01/02/98 to be paid for 100% of sick leave he has accumulated as of that date and be eligible for the 25% reduction in his health insurance premiums just as if he had accrued 25 years of continuous service.


8.                   Computer for Humboldt Health Families Home Visiting Collaborative Project

RECOMMENDATION: Approve purchase of computer with grant the Irvine Foundation.

9.                   Purchase of Desk and Computer System for Medi-Cal Administration

RECOMMENDATION: Approve purchase in the amount of $2,715.

10.               Transfer of $205 to Allow NorCAP to Sponsor an AIDS Awareness Poster Contest

RECOMMENDATION: Approve transfer.

11.               Compensation for Medical Office Assistant II at Administrative Secretary Rate

1.                   Tracy Katelman presented the Board members with a copy of the draft of The Headwaters Forest Stewardship Plan prepared by the Trees Foundation of Redway.Robert Parker, GIS Coordinator for the Trees Foundation went over some of the main points of the above-mentioned plan.By Order of the Chair consideration of the Board's comments on the above-mentioned draft would be scheduled for the Board's meeting of Tuesday, October 21, 1997.
