1.                   Don Leonard, Executive Director and Kathleen Gordon Burke, Marketing Director for the Humboldt County Visitors and Convention Bureau made a presentation to the Board regarding the benefits Humboldt County received from the marketing of the movie The Lost World Jurassic Park which was filmed in Humboldt County.

RECOMMENDATION: Hear report on budget units for the Planning & Building, Library Services and budget units for other County Departments.

6.                   Abbreviated Consolidated Plan--Community Development Block Grant Program

RECOMMENDATION: Accept and file submitted Abbreviated Consolidated Plan.

1.                   Funds for the Eradication of Marijuana Through December 31, 1997 ($45,000)

RECOMMENDATION: 1) Approve agreement with the Drug Enforcement Administration; 2) appoint Supervisors Rodoni and Kirk to meet with Sheriff and staff to create an MOU to prioritize the drug problems in County.MOU to be brought back in 2 weeks further discussion.
