Administrative Office (CAO)

1.                   Request to Authorize the Economic Development Coordinator to Apply for Several Northwest Economic Adjustment Initiative Grant Proposals

RECOMMENDATION: Approve request.

2.                   Regional Economic Development Administration District Planning (a.k.a. Regional Planning Consortium)

RECOMMENDATION: Receive update on Consortium via submitted overview of last meeting.

3.                   Administration of Public Works Department

RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Don Raffaelli as Interim Director of Public Works and as Director of Transportation at $5,775 monthly; appoint Peter Rei to Acting County Surveyor with 10 salary range increase; and direct that if Mr. Raffaelli's employment is terminated during this interim appointment that Mr. Raffaelli's payoff of accumulated time is made as though he were occupying the position of Deputy Director of Public Works at time of termination.

4.                   Amendment to Lease with Ferndale Veterans Adding the Vietnam Veterans to the Hall Management Agreement

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to execute amendment.

Building Maintenance

5.                   Extra-Help Extension for Michael Cain, Custodian

RECOMMENDATION: Approve extension to 960 hours.

6.                   Approval of the Board Orders from the Board Meeting of October 21, 1997

7.                   Reallocation of a Departmental Information Systems Analyst Position and a Departmental Information Systems Technician Position to Departmental Information Systems Technician (40 Hours)

RECOMMENDATION: Approve request.

Health

8.                   Domestic Violence Prevention Program for Fiscal Years 1997-99

RECOMMENDATION: Approve contract with the State Department of Health Services and approve subcontracts with Six Rivers Planned Parenthood, Humboldt Women for Shelter and the North Coast Rape Crisis Team.

9.                   Supplemental Budget ($13,758) for AIDS Education and Prevention Program

RECOMMENDATION: Approve supplemental budget for the receipt of funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

10.               Grant Award of $12,000 from Humboldt Area Foundation for the South Jetty Project to Fund the Salaries of Two Health Workers fro Four Months

RECOMMENDATION: Direct Chair to sign an award letter.
