RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the planting of donated trees at Freshwater County Park.

21.               Solid Waste Disposal

RECOMMENDATION: Continue negotiations with City Garbage Company (CGC) for contract extension and begin preparing requests for proposals for disposal of waste after contract with CGC expires on 09/30/98; and hold hearing on 03/19/96 to consider rate revision in Redway Transfer Station and Cummings Road Landfill contracts.

22.               Agreement to Perform Engineering Work for Rehabilitation of Mattole River Bridge on Lindley Road

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to sign agreement with CH2M Hill.

23.               Supplemental Budget for Tuition and Munitions for Special Emergency Response Team Training

RECOMMENDATION: Approve supplemental budget in the amount of $3,372.

24.               Hiring Freeze Exemption Deputy Sheriff I/II Position (No.040)

2.                   Standing Agenda Item--Advertisement or Award of Storm Damage Repair Projects

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to sign certification for designation of County representatives for storm damage financial assistance for the storm damage disaster covering December 29-31, 1995; and December 11-13, 1995.

3.                   Library Construction Project--Rejection of $1,044,273 Claim Submitted by RESCO Construction

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to sign release for retention funds held in an escrow account except for those necessary to provide security for "stop notices" and punch list items.

1.                   Linda Nellist, Director of the County Office of Emergency Services stated the Small Business Administration is offering low-interest disaster loans to victims of the high winds, heavy rains, and flooding which occurred from December 11, 1995 through January 1, 1996.She also reported on storm damage totals as of February 13, 1996.Richard Dorn of the Humboldt County Board of Realtors introduced the Board's Political Coordinator, Debra Price.
