RECOMMENDATION: Approve the reallocation for seven positions.

District Attorney

4.                   Reallocation of Fiscal Services Supervisor Position to Administrative Assistant

RECOMMENDATION: Approve reclassification.

5.                   Reallocation of Legal Office Assistant I/II Positions to Superior Court Clerk I/II

RECOMMENDATION: Approve the reallocation for two positions.

6.                   Agreement with State Department of Social Services to Administer Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment Grant and Contract with Humboldt Child Care Council to Provide Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to sign agreement and contract.

Employment Training

7.                   Contract with Mitchell-Redner Centers, Inc. to Provide Work Experience and Basic Living Education Instruction to JTPA-Eligible Youth of Southern Humboldt County

RECOMMENDATION: Approve reallocation for two half-time positions to one full-time position.

12.               Contracts to Provide Residential Substance Abuse Services

RECOMMENDATION: Approve contracts with Crossroads, Humboldt Recovery and Alcohol/Drug Care Services.

13.               Appointment of Maureen Welsh to the Mental Health Board

RECOMMENDATION: Approve appointment with term to expire on January 26, 1997.

RECOMMENDATION: Grant request for trained Engineering Aides, Park Caretakers and Road Laborers.

Administrative Office (CAO)

5.                   Report on Proposed Legislation--Support of Payment-In-Lieu-of-Taxes Legislation as Passed by the U.S. Senate; Support for an Amendment in the House of Representatives to Conform to the Senate-Passed Version

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Vice Chair Anna Sparks to sign a letter for mailing to various members of the Committee on Natural Resources.

6.                   Appointments to Citizens Advisory Committee for Law Enforcement Activities

RECOMMENDATION: Reschedule for the meeting of October 4, 1994.

1.                   Supervisor Sparks read a letter from Tom Odom, Mayor of the City of Trinidad, that thanked Public Works employees Don Raffaelli and Gordon Schuler for their work on Scenic Drive.Aldo Bongio felt that the cypress tree at Bartow Road and Central Avenue in McKinleyville was potentially dangerous for driving at night.He also felt that Supervisor Neely should encourage the State Board of Forestry to allow the removal of down timber on public lands.

1.                   Appeal of the Planning Commission's Approval of the Taylor Minor Subdivision and Coastal Development Permit Applications; Trinidad Area
