Board of Supervisors
1. Letter of Appreciation to Senator Feinstein and Staff for Assisting Humboldt County with Very Difficult Issues. (Supervisor Jimmy Smith)
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors ratify authorization to sign letter of appreciation.
2. Letter of Appreciation to Blanche Blankenship for serving on the Orick Design Control Committee. Supervisor Ryan Sundberg
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Chair to sign the letter.
Clerk of the Board
RECOMMENDATION: Approve Board Orders H-1, H-2, I-1, I-2 and I-3. Authorize the Clerk of the Board and the Board Chair to sign the minute book in accordance with California Government Code Section 25103.
Community Development Services
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors
approve the Contract with
Health and Human Services - Social Services Branch
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the Chair to execute the Lease with Carter Properties at 215 4th Street, Eureka beginning May 1, 2012 and terminating April 30, 2014 with two (2) two (2) year options to extend the lease, and direct the Clerk of the Board to return an executed Lease to the Public Works - Real Property Division for transmittal to Lessor.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors recognize donations made to the Library in the amount of $59,886.14 in support of the Library's programs and services during the period October 2011 through March 2012.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors approve the supplemental budget for the purchase of Library public use computers.
8. Authorize the Public Works Director to Execute All Assignment, Novation and Consent (ANC) Agreements with GHD, Inc. for Active Professional Service Agreements with Winzler & Kelly for Various County Projects.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors authorize the Public Works Director to execute all Assignment, Novation and Consent (ANC) agreements with GHD, Inc. for active professional service agreements with Winzler & Kelly for various county projects.
D. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS
1. Resolution Recognizing the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). (Supervisor Jimmy Smith)
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the Resolution.
2. Proclamation for National Boys and Girls Club Week April 15-21, 2012. (Supervisor Mark Lovelace)
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the Proclamation.
3. Redwood Acres Fair Presentation. (Supervisor Mark Lovelace)
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors hear the presentation and take appropriate action, if necessary.

County Administrative Office
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors receive an update from staff on the County's response to the federal government's Request for Lease Proposal Number 0CA2679; authorize the Chair of the Board to sign the Receipt of Amendment Number 2 and direct staff to continue to process of offering to lease space at 5630 South Broadway, Eureka (Humboldt Hill) to the federal government and authorize the Chair to sign, upon approval by County Counsel and Director of Public Works, and other documents that may be required.
Community Development Services - Economic Development Division.
2. Contract with the Ninth District Agricultural Association for the Economic Development Division staff to provide marketing services for the Redwood Acres Humboldt Made Fair, and to authorize the Chair of the Board to sign the agreement and all modifications that may be needed.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors approve the contract submitted by the 9th Agriculture District, Redwood Acres Fairgrounds for County staff to provide event management, sponsorship development and marketing services for the Redwood Acres Humboldt Made Fair, held June 21-24, 2012. Authorize and direct the Chair of the Board to sign the agreement, after review and approval of County Counsel and Risk Management. Authorize and direct the Economic Development and Natural Resources Department Director to sign modifications, after review and approval of County Counsel and Risk Management. Direct the Auditor Controller to incorporate the supplemental budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Supervisors receive a status report from staff on activities surrounding the Klamath Settlement agreements and the introduced federal legislation to implement the agreements, and provide direction as appropriate.
