Board of Supervisors

1.                   Appointment of Patty Mendes to the Petrolia Pioneer Cemetery District (Supervisor Smith)

RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Patty Mendes to the Petrolia Pioneer Cemetery District.

2.                   Letter of Appreciation to Mary Lou Morgan for Serving on the Petrolia Pioneer Cemetery District (Supervisor Smith)

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to sign letter of appreciation.

3.                   Certificate of Recognition for Maggie Craig for EAST Lab Project. (Supervisor Smith)

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Chair to sign Certificate of Recognition.

County Administrative Office

4.                   Hiring Freeze Exemptions

RECOMMENDATION: Approve exemptions for the following positions:Planning Tech I/II; Juvenile Correction Officer; Fiscal Assistant I/II (Sheriff); and Senior Correctional Officer.

Public Works

5.                   Ordinance Amending Section 431-65 of Chapter 1, Division 3, of Title IV of the Humboldt County Code, Relating to Parking on Murray Road in McKinleyville

RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Ordinance No. ____.

D.                  PUBLIC APPEARANCES--9:05 A.M.

This 15-minute portion of the meeting is reserved for persons desiring to address the Board on any matter not on this agenda that is under the jurisdiction of the Board. It is requested that speakers voluntarily sign the sheet at the front doors of the Chambers by 9:00 a.m.

J.                   VIDEO CONFERENCE IN CONFERENCE ROOM A--1:30 P.M.

County Administrative Office

1.                   Video Conference with Lobbyist Don Peterson

RECOMMENDATION: Hold a video conference session with Sacramento Lobbyist Don Peterson, in Conference Room A, to discuss the Governor's May Revise and other bills that affect the local community.Take appropriate action as may be necessary.

Persons wishing to file documentation on any agenda item for the official record must submit an original and nine (9) copies of each document to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Room 111 of the County Courthouse, 825 5th Street in Eureka (476-2384). Documentation includes, but is not limited to, written correspondence, audio and video tapes, maps, photographs, and petitions.
