Recommendation: By a straw vote, support enhanced budget request for additional funds for Books and Periodicals, Transportation (Out of County), and Districts 1 Through 5 (Out-of-County Travel).

County Administrative Office (CAO)
1. Subject: Budget Update
Recommendation: Receive a budget update report. Open the public hearing on the budget for Fiscal Year 2000-01, and take comments from County officials, and the public. Close the public hearing. Direct staff to return to the Board on September 12, 2000, to present final budget recommendations. Set September 26, 2000, for adoption of the final budget for Fiscal Year 2000-01. BY A STRAW VOTE, approve allocating $185,000 to the Community Development Services Department for the Economic Development Division and the General Plan Update. BY A STRAW VOTE, approve the request for funding from the Humboldt County Resource Conservation District. Authorize Chairman Rodoni to sign a letter to Assemblywoman Strom-Martin and to State Senator Chesbro urging their support of actions to assure distribution of $220,000 in State relief to Humboldt County, which is essential to the continuation of County programs.
