This division of the County Administrative Office is responsible for managing the County’s utilities, radio and telephone systems, and cable television franchises.

The telephone system consists of all county-owned telephone equipment and services provided through the Eureka AT&T central office Centrex switch. The primary functions in both the radio and telephone programs consist of maintenance contract administration, system design and equipment specification, capitalization fund management and monthly bill auditing, and payment and cost distribution to departments.

Utility bill management entails monthly utility invoice auditing, payment, and cost distribution to County departments for electricity, gas, water/sewer, and waste disposal service usage.

Radio and telecommunications systems management consists of multiple-system maintenance contract administration, system design and equipment specification, repair and installation coordination, operation and licensing compliance, capitalization fund management, and monthly services invoice auditing, payment, and departmental cost distribution. The radio system includes all federally licensed equipment and frequencies that operate through the courthouse emergency dispatch center, Public Works dispatch center, and seven remote mountaintop radio repeater sites. Equipment includes mobile, portable, and base station radios, system infrastructure, power supply, and accessories. Telephone systems include all analog, digital, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and cellular telecommunications equipment and services provided to County departments and facilities.
