The goal for SACPA drug treatment services for eligible parolees and probationers is to establish a client centered, culturally appropriate treatment program that will lead to recovery while providing careful monitoring, support, information and education.
The objective of the program is to ensure long-term success in the areas of sobriety and addiction recovery and in doing so, improve the client’s ability to function as a family member, worker and community member.
The SACPA program provides monitoring, review and revision of treatment plans to assure that the goals are suited to the client’s needs and that the client has access to the supportive services necessary to attain their individual treatment goals.
Eligibility:
First or second time non-violent adult drug offenders who use, possess or transport illegal drugs for personal use will receive drug treatment rather than incarceration.
How it works:
- Following arrest for drug related charges the DA decides whether to file charges under Prop 36
- Offender enters plea and receives conviction and court order of probation and drug treatment under Prop 36
- Offender/Client is directed to our SACPA office for Risk and Treatment Assessment
- Client is referred to appropriate level and focus of treatment (Residential, Outpatient Intensive, Outpatient, Healthy Moms, etc.)
SACPA Services:
- Eligible offenders may receive up to one year of drug treatment and six months of aftercare.
- Treatment must be provided in a program licensed or certified by the State.
- The courts may sanction offenders who are not amenable to treatment.
A benefit of participation is that upon completion of treatment, participants may petition the sentencing court for dismissal of charges.
By Court or Probation Referral only.
