The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Environmental Health (DEH) is notifying the public that the October 16 public health warning to avoid water contact has been rescinded for Luffenholtz beach. Water quality samples collected yesterday show that state health standards were not exceeded at this beach or at any of the other five beaches that also were tested.

Water quality data for the beaches monitored by DEH is posted on the Humboldt County website at: www.co.humboldt.ca.us/health/envhealth/beachinfo. The results can be viewed by clicking on “Current Water Quality Test Results.” Yellow warning signs are posted on the beach when standards are exceeded. The signs are then removed as soon as tests indicate that the beach waters do not exceed the standards. For further information, please contact DEH at 445-6215.
