The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services announces that the dry weather test period for the evaluation of water quantity supplies for proposed subdivisions and parcels within the coastal zone is open as of August 1. The test period will remain open until September 30, 2004, unless extended. The close of the test period is implemented upon the arrival of the first typical fall/winter seasonal rainfall event.

All parties anticipating to subdivide land or develop parcels within the coastal zone with individual or single water supplies to serve four or fewer should contact a qualified consultant to arrange for testing early in the dry weather test period. The test data must demonstrate that at least 720 gallons per day, per parcel can be developed.

Additional information regarding water quantity testing and water production test procedures can be obtained by calling the Humboldt County Division of Environmental Health at 445-6215 or 1-800-963-9241.
