As part of a continuing effort to prevent waste and improve recycling, the Humboldt Waste Management Authority and the cities and county will host a one-day workshop entitled:

Make Less Waste: Strategies to Eliminate Waste on the Jobsite and in the Office

Where: Arcata Community Center, 321 Community Park Way, Arcata, California
When: Wednesday, September 15, 2004, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Who should attend: This event will provide waste prevention and recycling information specifically developed to assist building and demolition contractors, office managers, recycling policy makers, waste reduction staff, and those interested in increasing recycling, reuse and waste prevention in Humboldt County.

Topics to be presented include: Strategies for eliminating waste at construction and demolition jobsites, methods to eliminate waste in the office environment, and techniques for becoming a successful “zero waste” operation, all while reducing costs.

8:00 a.m. Registration
8:30 a.m. Construction and demolition waste reduction session
11:00 a.m. Zero waste overview
12:00 noon Office waste reduction session (please bring your own lunch)

Attendees are welcome to come for a portion of the presentation. There is no charge to attend this workshop, but advance registration is requested.
