Fire Safety / Fire Prevention

Be Prepared! Fire can strike any time, anywhere in your home.
Protect your family:
  • Have working smoke detectors
  • Use a preparedness plan
  • Practice a safe escape route

Are You Prepared for Fire?
Esta Preparado Para Un Incendio? (Espanol)

Smoke detectors save lives!
Be sure to check all smoke detectors monthly and always keep fresh batteries in your smoke detector. Change the batteries every six months, when Daylight Savings Time changes.

"Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries, Save Your Life"
is a campaign conducted by the Public Health Branch on television, radio, and in newspapers in March and October to remind everyone to be aware of fire prevention and the importance of using working smoke detectors. If you have a question about where to put your smoke detectors, call your local fire department, they will help!

In case of fire or other emergency, call 911
