Reportable sexually transmitted disease (STD) test results from throughout Humboldt County are sent to the Department of Health and Human Services Public Health Branch. A Public Health Nurse works as the STD Coordinator to track suspect cases of sexually transmitted diseases and to test vulnerable populations. Through education and testing by licensed professionals, clients and their partners, who may or may not be symptomatic, receive effective and timely medical treatment.
