Associations Unlimited  -- Addresses of Organizations

Use this database to get contact information and basic facts about approximately 460,000 international and U.S. national, regional, state, and local nonprofit membership organizations. 

 

Biography Resource Center 

Get full text articles about the lives of famous people from reference books, magazines, and other reliable sources. This database allows you to search for people by name, occupation, nationality, ethnicity, birth/death dates and places, and gender.  You can then read or print the article.

Biography and Genealogy Master Index is an online index.   It tells you where to find more information in books, and is especially helpful when you need to do in-depth research on someone who is hard to find out about.  It covers more than 1,000  important biographical reference sources.

 

California Digital Newspaper Collection, 1849  - 1911

Historic articles from newspapers across California can be searched by keyword with this helpful tool from the University of California at Riverside.

 

Career Library -- College and career information
Career Library offers a comprehensive information resource for career and college research.   Search for occupations, colleges and college majors, financial aid information, apprenticeships, military occupations, and state-specific data.

You will also find: a video library (career videos in English and Spanish) a resume builder, college and career planning checklists sample proficiency & standardized job test questions, GED sample tests, ASVAB, SAT and more.

ChiltonLibrary provides detailed auto repair information. This database covers the most popular vehicles of the past 30 years, and has additional coverage of specialty models. Information on service and repair for virtually any system on your vehicle is available here.

 

Gale Virtual Reference Library   -- eBooks
Our e-book reference collection currently includes West's Encyclopedia of American Law (general legal concepts), Grzimek's Animal Life Encyclopedia (great for learning about any kind of animal, fish, bird, etc.), and Fashion, Costume, and Culture: Clothing, Headwear, Body Decorations, and Footwear through the Ages.

MEDLINEplus en Espanol -- Informacion medica en espanol
MEDLINEplus is a database you can use to help answer health questions. This database brings together, by health topic, authoritative information from the National Library of Medicine, the National Institutes of Health, and other government, non-profit and health-related organizations. It includes drug information and an illustrated medical encyclopedia. Health Reference Center Academic  is another multi-source database with access to the full text of nursing and allied health journals, plus a wide variety of personal health information sources.
