Humboldt County Library Obituary Search Service

• For requests from outside of Humboldt County, we provide an Obituary Search Service for a fee of $10.00 per obituary searched.
     (Humboldt County residents, please visit the library and request assistance at the reference desk.)

• We perform searches for persons whose deaths are reported in Humboldt County newspapers

• We cannot guarantee that we will find the information you request.

• All requested searches are undertaken in the order recieved.

• Answers are sent by mail.  They can be faxed if you provide a fax number.

• If you do not have the exact date of death, check the Social Security Death Index.

To make your request

1. Print and complete our Obituary Search Request Form for each obituary requested. 

2. Include your money order or check made out to Humboldt County Library.

3. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope  (unless you have provided a fax number instead.)
