Volunteer today to help individuals and families receive the tax refunds they deserve and put money back into our local economy.  Volunteering for VITA is also a chance to engage with the public, add a great skill to your resume, and be a part of a rewarding and educational experience.

Redwood Community Action Agency is currently seeking volunteers to prepare tax returns in the local community through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program for the 2013 tax season (January  – April).  Volunteer now so that you can be trained and ready for the tax season.

The VITA Program offers free tax preparation services for low-to-moderate income households throughout Humboldt and Del Norte counties including locations in Eureka, Arcata, Ferndale, Manila, McKinleyville, Redway, Rio Dell, Fortuna, Loleta, Hoopa, Blue Lake, Willow Creek, Klamath, and Crescent City.

Free training is provided to become IRS-certified, and volunteers can expect to spend from 4 - 15 hours per week preparing returns.  Call now to find out more about the training and volunteer opportunities.
