Library
cards are free of charge to Humboldt County residents with a permanent local
address.
To apply:

Pick up an application from any Humboldt County
Library. A parent or legal guardian
must sign the application for anyone under 18 years of age. 2)
Bring proof of your Humboldt County address (a P.O. Box is acceptable).
You must have one of the following with your current address:
Valid California Driver’s License
OR
Valid California
Identification Card
OR
Current utility or telephone bill
When
you sign the application for a library card, you agree to return borrowed
materials on time and to be responsible for lost or damaged items.
If
you are a non-resident, you may place a deposit for a temporary card. Ask library staff for details.

Your library card brings you many benefits:

Free use of books, videos and
DVDs, audio
books, music, magazines, and online resources.

Easy access to the internet at library
branches with public computers. (You must have a parent's or guardian's
permission if under 18.)

Your card is valid at all the public libraries in
Humboldt County, including the Coaster Bookmobile. (Click

Use
your card to check your library record, see when your books are due, place holds and
renew materials online.
·
Free online access to selected
databases
that would otherwise charge a fee for use. Our list includes health,
car repair, magazine articles, encyclopedias, jobs, test practice, homework
information, and more. If you have the internet at home, these databases are
available to you even when the library is closed. Your library card number is
your password!

Interlibrary
loan services are available with your library card.
·
Your library card is permanent and does not need to be
renewed.
