Recreational and Conservation Easement Program

The Recreational and Conservation Easement program supports easement acquisitions that encourage the conservation of working lands and access to public lands for fishing, hunting and recreation. The program provides financial incentives for the voluntary participation by producers and landowners in working lands conservation.

On March 22, 2005 the Board of Supervisors approved program goals and funding criteria for the Recreational and Conservation Easement Support Program funded by HR 3289 Title III funding.  Applications are now being accepted.

To download an Application Packet, click on one of the links below. The Application Packet contains a description of  funding categories, contact information, and a Project Application form.  Descriptions of authorized uses of Title III  funds and a Program Description are also included.

Maximum funding suggested per proposed project is $10,000. Initially, due to the availability of coastal bond monies, higher priority will be given to inland projects.

These program funds may also be made available to defray expenses for landowners who wish to enroll lands eligible under the Williamson Act.  Please contact us using the phone or e-mail link below for more information.
