Draft Master Fire Protection Plan

Statement of Need

The California Fire Plan finds that "risk from wildfire to life, property, natural resources, and firefighter safety is increasing."  A long-standing and increasing concern is providing for structural fire protection and the safety of residents in rural areas.  The growing population outside local fire protection districts is a concern. Inadequate response capabilities and sketchy rural residence information compound the problem.  This plan will promote community awareness and education about fire protection issues.
