Willow Creek Fire Safe Council
The Willow Creek Fire Safe Council is a California non-profit public benefit corporation serving communities along the Lower Trinity River in northeastern Humboldt and western Trinity Counties. We welcome all from Hoopa, Willow Creek, Salyer, Hawkins Bar, Burnt Ranch and Cedar Flat to join us to reduce the risk of loss of life and property from wildland fire.
Council projects include "chipper days" to clear brush around homes, a public information Fire Safe Day Fair in May, a Youth Fishing Derby in June, and participation in the community Bigfoot Days celebration on Labor Day weekend.
The public is invited to board of directors meetings held every first Thursday of the month from 7pm to 9pm at the Forest Service building on Hwy. 96, 1 mile north of Willow Creek. Meetings of members are held the first Thursday of April, July and October at 6 pm at locations as posted.
