Updates/History/Corrections: Original data only included 
District boundaries which were based on parcels and Tax Rate Area 
(TRA) numbers.  Out of district response areas as well as local non-district
response areas were added based on fire survey maps markups.  
Illustration of fire department response areas is based on information 
provided in two fire response capability surveys. The survey data was
gathered over a 15-month period in 2003 and 2004.

Accuracy:

Warning/Data Limitations: 
"Out of District" response areas are areas outside of district 
boundaries that fire departments currently respond to. Fire departments
do not receive funding for "Out of District" areas and are not legally
obligated to respond. "Non-Tax" response areas are covered by Non-Governmental
Organizations, usually fire departments or companies not associated with a
District. Such organizations do not receive tax based funding.
