The FBI has joined the search for the man wanted for shooting at law enforcement officers in Del Norte and Humboldt Counties. Francisco Medina Loya is still at large after shooting at officers from the CHP, Hoopa Valley Tribal Police, and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. Loya was last seen on Highway 169 near Johnsons.
The FBI joined the manhunt this morning and sent up their San Francisco SWAT team. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is also continuing the search for Loya and the California Highway Patrol has air support standing by. Anyone with information about Loya is asked to contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251.
