Two Klamath residents were arrested yesterday morning at their residence in the Ah Pah Creek area of Klamath when officials from the Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit, Humboldt County Drug Task Force, and the US Marshal’s Office served arrest warrants there. At about 8:30 AM Margaret Hellen Carlson, 68 and Nixon Cecil Hall, 62, were taken into custody without incident. The arrest warrants are the result of an August 2003 case in which Carlson and Hall were indicted for possession of marijuana for sale, plant/cultivate marijuana, and providing a place for storage of a controlled substance.
Subsequent to making the arrests yesterday morning, officials discovered an outdoor marijuana grow on the property. They secured the area and obtained a search warrant. Officials found five marijuana gardens with a total of 351 plants that ranged in size from 3 to 4 feet in height. They also found two loaded rifles. Carlson and Hall were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
