Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Bridgeville man last night after finding him tending marijuana plants. At about 8:00 last night a deputy was on China Mine Camp Road in Bridgeville attempting to make a death notification. Instead, he encountered Terry Lee Ellis, 46, and 343 growing marijuana plants. Mr. Ellis was taken into custody and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit obtained a search warrant. They discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation still under construction. They found 5 handguns, 1 rifle, and 1 shotgun, and a 25-kilowatt diesel generator. They also found two pounds of processed marijuana buds.
Mr. Ellis was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. His bail has been set at $20,000.
