The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is pleased to inform the public of our new computer system. Effective 09-20-04, the Humboldt County Animal Shelter is now using Chameleon Computer Program. This is a modern shelter program, which will assist staff with tracking dogs and cats at the shelter and within the community. Additionally, the program also allows most animals in the Humboldt County Animal Shelter to be viewed online. If one has lost an animal or is considering adopting an animal, you can go to:

www.petharbor.com (for All, Found or Adoptable Animals)

At this website, simply type in your zip code, and check Humboldt County Animal Shelter. This system also allows an individual to request notification via e-mail if one is looking for a certain breed of animal. The system will automatically notify the person via e-mail if that breed is at the shelter. After thirty days the person can re-sign up to continue the notification.

The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is located at 980 Lycoming Lane, McKinleyville, (off Airport Road). The public can call the shelter at (707) 840-9132. Everyone is welcome to stop by and visit our facility.
