The Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a family trapped in a cabin by snow on Three Creeks Road near Berry Summit.

The Sheriff’s Office responded on 01-03-05 at 4:30 pm. The mother, Wendy Parker, walked out in knee deep snow 1.9 miles to get seek assistance in evacuating her children and family puppy. Sheriff personnel accessed the cabin with the Sheriff’s Office’s snow cat. Deputies had to use chain saws to remove down trees from the roadway. The family, which included Wendy Parker and her children ages 11, 9, 3 and their puppy were all taken to a friend’s home in Arcata.
