On 07-03-2005 at approximately 6:00 p.m. the Humboldt County sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located in the 2200 block of Silverbrook Avenue, McKinleyville. The Sheriff’s Office had been requested to deliver a message to Gabriel Steven Rodriguez age 26 by his mother, because she had not heard from him in a while and she could not contact him by telephone. When the Deputy arrived at the residence he located Gabriel and advised him to contact his mother, because she has not heard from him in a while and was concerned for his safety. Gabriel told the Deputy that he was fine, but had recently lost his cellular telephone and was unable to contact his mother.
When the Deputy was speaking to Gabriel he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside of the residence. The Deputy then asked Gabriel for permission to search the residence for marijuana. Gabriel then gave permission to the Deputy to search the residence. When the Deputy walked into the residence he discovered a large amount of dried marijuana through out the residence along with two other subjects, who were identified as Nicholas William Arnett age 23 and Victor James Wellington age 27.
The Sheriff’s Office then contacted their Drug Enforcement Unit, who responded to assist in the investigation. When deputies searched the residence they seized 25 pounds of dried marijuana, marijuana hash and methamphetamine. Deputies located evidence that marijuana was being processed into marijuana hash inside of the residence. Deputies located $ 5,020 dollars in cash inside of the residence that was seized for possible asset seizure.
Deputies arrested Gabriel Rodriguez, Nicholas Arnett and Victor Wellington for possession of marijuana for sales.
An arrest warrant for possession of marijuana for sales and possession of methamphetamine has been requested through the Humboldt County District Attorneys’s Office for a fourth suspect named, Dieter Paul Delpardo age 21, who was not at home when the Deputies searched the residence.
This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
