On 10-25-2005 the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit assisted agents from the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration out of San Francisco in attempting to located two warrant suspects who both live in Mckinleyville.
The two suspects were identified as Harbor Eichhorn Miles age 28 and Mark Ethan Bush age 33. Both Miles and Bush had federal warrants for their arrest that were issued out of the Eastern District Federal Court from the State of Virginia. Miles and Bush were linked through a D.E.A. investigation with transporting 329 pounds of marijuana and 40 pounds of cocaine from Arizona to Virginia.
Officers first went to Miles residence which was located on the 1100 block of Azalea Avenue, McKinleyville at approximately 0630 hours. When officers arrived
at the residence they located Miles inside of his residence and took him into custody. When officers contacted Miles at his residence they discovered a large indoor marijuana growing operation in his basement. Officers then secured Miles’ residence for a search warrant.
Officers then went to Bush’s residence located on the 1900 block of Lime Avenue, McKinleyville at approximately 0700 hours. Officers located Bush inside his residence and took him into custody. When officers contacted Bush at his residence they located an indoor marijuana growing operation in his back bedroom. Officers then secured Bush’s residence for a search warrant.
After the two residences were secured for search warrants, Miles and Bush were transported to San Francisco by the D.E.A. Miles and Bush were booked into the San Francisco County Jail on federal charges and are awaiting transport back to Virginia. Neither Miles nor Bush are eligible to bail at this time.
At 1030 hours a signed search warrant was obtained for both residences. When officers searched Miles residence they seized 3,484 growing marijuana plants that ranged in size from 6 inches to 18 inches in height. Officers seized $2,500 dollars in cash.
When Officers searched Bush’s residence they seized 145 growing marijuana plants that ranged in size from 6 inches to two feet and one pound of dried marijuana.
Both new cases in Humboldt County that occurred when Miles and Bush were arrested will be turned over to D.E.A for possible Federal Charges.
