On 03-07-2006 at 0930 hours the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by the FBI went to a residence located off Homestead Road, Blocksburg. The Sheriff’s Office had recently received information that a subject named Doyle Gene Bigger age 52 may be living at the residence. Doyle Bigger has been hiding from law enforcement for the last 10 years. Doyle Bigger had six separate warrants for his arrest that were all issued in 1996. The warrants were issued for the following charges, drunk driving, drunk in public, violation of probation, driving on a suspended driving license, cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales. The total bail on the six warrants was $90,000 dollars.
When deputies arrived at the residence they located Doyle Bigger hiding in the upstairs bedroom. Doyle Bigger was taken into custody on his six arrest warrants. While deputies were at the residence they discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation underneath the residence. Deputies then secured the residence for a search warrant.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence a few hours later. Deputies then searched the residence and seized 537 growing marijuana plants that ranged in size from 1 inch to 18 inches. Deputies seized $ 25,160 dollars in cash, which was located inside of the residence. Deputies seized, 3 rifles, 1 handgun and 1 shotgun from inside the residence. Deputies seized a 60 k/w diesel generator that was supplying electrical power to the indoor marijuana growing operation.
Doyle Bigger was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the six outstanding arrest warrants. Bigger was also booked into jail on new charges for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana.
