On 04-04-2006 at 1600 hours the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration served a search warrant on a parcel of property located off Maux Road, Honeydew. Officers located a commercial indoor marijuana growing operation inside of a newly constructed two-story structure on the property. Officers seized 888 growing marijuana plants from inside of the structure that ranged in size from 1 foot to 3 feet. The marijuana plants weighed 660 pounds.
Officers seized a 70-k/w-diesel generator and a 25-k/w-diesel generator that were being used to supply electrical power to the indoor marijuana growing operation. Officers seized a John Deere loader that was used in the construction of the indoor marijuana growing operation.
Humboldt County Environmental Health responded to the property, because of a large amount of diesel fuel and oil that had been dumped onto the ground by the suspects.
No suspects were on the property when the search warrant was served. Two suspects have been identified in this case, but their names are not being released at this time pending further investigation.
This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and Humboldt County Environmental.
