Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Eureka man yesterday after finding him in possession of more than fourteen grams of suspected methamphetamine. At about 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, deputies stopped Frankie Dea Goree, 38, for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, deputies discovered that Goree was driving on a suspended license and the registration to his vehicle was expired. Goree was asked to step out of his vehicle; as he was being taken into custody, deputies saw Goree throw something from his right hand. Goree was placed in handcuffs and deputies retrieved the thrown item. Deputies found the item to be a bundle that contained three baggies and a glass pipe. The baggies contained a total 14.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
Goree was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance, transport and/or sales of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, and the traffic violations. His bail has been set at $25,000 and he is expected to be arraigned on Friday.
