At about 12:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of robbery that had occurred on Samoa Beach. A couple from Redlands, George and Loretta Beres, both in their eighties, reported they had been walking on Samoa Beach, across from Evergreen Pulp. They said at about 11:00 a.m. they were approached by a man who told them he had a gun and demanded that Mr. Beres give him his wallet. Mr. Beres gave the suspect the money in his wallet and the suspect ran toward New Navy Base Road.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, in his mid-thirties. He is approx. 6’ tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and his front teeth are missing. He was last seen wearing a white zip-up cotton windbreaker and a white and red knit watch cap.
