An inmate who ran from a Humboldt County Courtroom during a court appearance yesterday was captured only moments after running. At about 2:30 p.m. Vincente Espinoza Lopez, 33 of Eureka, was in court, restrained in handcuffs. Lopez slipped out of his restraints and ran out of the courtroom. Lopez ran out to a hallway and then into another courtroom where he was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Bailiffs.
Lopez now faces an additional charge of escape, a felony. He has been in custody since on September 27, 2006 when he was arrested for two counts of possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
