On 05-12-2005 the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Humboldt County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at Cody Kyle Dobbs residence located off Osprey Terrace Court, Fortuna.
At the residence officers located approximately 100 growing marijuana plants and $10,000 dollars in cash. Search warrants were also served Dobbs’s bank accounts and officers seized, $250,000 dollars for asset seizure.
The search warrant was obtained for Dobbs’s residence, because a California State Fish and Game Officer had arrested Dobbs inside of a large indoor marijuana growing operation in Mendocino County. A Fish and Game Officer was investigating a diesel spill in the Piercy area when the officer located Cody Dobbs on the property. Mendocino County Officers seized 2,100 growing marijuana plants after they obtained a search warrant.
On 05-12-2005, Dobbs was arrested on state charges for cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales. Shortly after Dobbs arrest the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration out of San Francisco was contacted. The Federal Drug Enforcement Administration agreed to take over the investigation federally.
Dobbs was indicted federally out of the United States District Court in San Francisco last week on three counts of manufacture and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Dobbs was additionally indicted on two counts of intentionally conspire to manufacture and distribute marijuana.
On 11-06-2006 Cody Dobbs turned himself in to federal authorities in San Francisco with his attorney.
