Subject: Attempted Robbery

Location: McKinleyville

On the above date at about 0210 hours, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the Freeway 76 gas station at 1021 Murray Road, McKinleyville. A clerk reported that two suspects had just attempted to rob the gas station and had assaulted two clerks and a customer before fleeing. No one was seriously injured and the clerks and customer were able to fend off the suspects before they stole anything.

Deputy Chance Landreneaux was not far from the gas station when the call was received and arrived within minutes. Deputy Landreneaux spotted two subjects running from the area, who matched the description of the robbery suspects. After a short chase Deputy Landreneaux was able to apprehend both subjects without incident.

The suspects were identified as Nathan Carmichael, 22 of McKinleyville, and Andrew Carmichael, 19 of Eureka.

Nathan and Andrew were later booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for 664/211 PC - Attempted robbery and 182 PC – Criminal conspiracy.
