Shortly after 4:30 Sunday morning Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to investigate a report of a gunshot victim on Stealhead Road in Alderpoint. Deputies arrived and found a male adult lying on the ground outside a residence. Deputies confirmed he had been shot. There were several other adults at the residence who identified the victim only as “Tosh.” The victim was airlifted to a Redding hospital with multiple gunshot wounds where he is in critical condition.
While at the same residence conducting the investigation, deputies located a second individual lying under some bushes, away from the residence. Deputies found that man to have injuries consistent with a severe beating. He was also taken by air-ambulance to a Redding hospital.

Sheriff’s Deputies have determined a possible suspect in the shooting, although no arrests have been made pending further investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the victim, so far only known as “Tosh.” He is an adult white male, in his mid-fifties. Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office is interested in speaking with Cameron S. Daubner. Mr. Daubner is not a suspect. Anyone with information about this case should call Sgt.
