Humboldt County Sheriff’s Detectives are looking for a Trinidad man in connection with an assault that occurred early this morning. Shortly after midnight the Sheriff’s Office was notified that a woman had been brought to a local emergency room unconscious and bleeding from her head. Another woman told the responding deputy that she had gone to an acquaintance’s house on Kay-Win Lane in Westhaven. When she arrived she found the victim, already injured, lying in front of the house. The woman said the resident of the house, Gary Larry Quinn, 24, was also outside, holding a large flashlight and pacing. The woman drove the victim to Eureka, called another friend, and together they drove the injured woman to the hospital. The victim remains hospitalized in intensive care, but in stable condition.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its search for Gary Quinn. Detectives served a search warrant at Quinn’s residence on Kay-Win Lane this morning. He has a birthmark on his right cheek and several tattoos including the letter “I” on his left shoulder and the letter “P” on his right shoulder.
