Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested four people early yesterday morning after receiving a report of a vehicle burglary on the 1100 block of Sea Avenue in Eureka. Shortly before 1:00 a.m. the victim reported hearing a vehicle burglary and upon turning on a porch light, saw a suspect running away. Responding deputies searched the area and found four suspects, two adults and two juveniles. The four suspects had scattered throughout the neighborhood (one hiding behind a car, and another running from a deputy) but all were eventually arrested. Further investigation revealed ten vehicles in the neighborhood had been burglarized. Deputies searched the four suspects and found them in possession of property from the burglarized vehicles. Additional property from the vehicles was recovered strewn nearby the vehicles. The victims were notified and the property, after properly identified and inventoried, was returned to the owners.
The two juvenile suspects were arrested for charges that included possession of stolen property, disorderly conduct (public intoxication), and curfew violations. They were released to their parents. Steven Michael Danielson, 23 of Eureka, was booked for possession of stolen property, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and disorderly conduct. Shane Anzack Campbell, 20 of Eureka, was booked for possession of stolen property. Campbell also had an outstanding warrant for felony vandalism. Both men are expected to be arraigned by Wednesday.
