Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a juvenile early this morning in connection with a commercial burglary in Blue Lake. After receiving multiple reports of burglaries in Blue Lake the past few nights, Sheriff’s Deputies conducted foot patrols last night in downtown Blue Lake. Shortly after 1:00 this morning, deputies heard noise coming from a restaurant that had been burglarized the night before. As two deputies approached, three subjects ran out of the business. Deputies pursued the three suspects who split up. One suspect was taken into custody. Upon further investigation, deputies were able to determine the possible identifications of the two other suspects, both of whom are juveniles.
The suspect who was taken into custody was also a juvenile. That suspect was arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer. The juvenile was transported to Humboldt County Juvenile Hall.
The investigation is continuing. Deputies are processing evidence from earlier burglaries in Blue Lake to determine if the cases are related.
