Location: Weott

At about 3:45 yesterday afternoon, sheriff’s deputies were notified that the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) was at the scene of a structure fire on the 100 block of Weott Heights Road in Weott. The burning structure housed an indoor marijuana growing operation. The structure was a singlewide mobile home. Sheriff’s deputies obtained a search warrant and found162 growing marijuana plants and ten grow lights. There was no indication at the marijuana grow site that this was a Proposition 215 (medical marijuana) grow. A suspect has been identified and the case is still under investigation. Cal Fire personnel are investigating the cause and origin of the structure fire.
