The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Loleta man in connection with an attempted murder that occurred Sunday evening. Just after 7:00 p.m. deputies were called to a residence in Weott Drive in Loleta for a reported assault. Upon arrival, deputies found medical personnel treating Eliseo Alvarado Lopez, 39, for a head injury and an injury to his chest. Lopez was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries that included fractured orbital bones. Further investigation revealed that Cody Lee Meyers, 21, had struck Lopez in the head and chest with a golf club. Additionally, Meyers was heard making racial slur toward prior to the attack. Meyers had fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

Meyers is a Native American male adult. He is 6’ tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his left arm that reads “Heather.” Anyone with information about Meyers’ whereabouts should call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251.
